TRAVEL:
EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED

Allan Brodie
Travel Expect the Unexpected by Allan Brodie cover

This is not a travel book. It is a humorous account of well-planned holidays, gone awry. When embarking on a holiday, it doesn’t matter how much you plan, there are some things you can’t control. These stories are true experiences that will provide you with some valuable insights into travel, particularly the locations visited. However, you will not believe the things that actually go wrong.

As a family, as soon as we decide on a holiday location, I purchase a diary,
and enter all activities for each day, to ensure our days are full, interesting and planned well in advance. One piece of advice. Just make sure you write the tour information on the correct day. I am not taking ownership for that, after all my
wife was supposed to check it.

Whether it be incorrect information from the travel company regarding a pick-up time, to a no-show from a taxi booked 2 months in advance or your wife (because men can’t read maps), taking you in the wrong direction and you walking double the distance you needed to. These things you can control. What you can’t control are the cyclones, earthquakes, and having dinner with vegans.

About the Author

Allan Brodie lives in Melbourne, Australia with his very tolerant wife of over 4 decades Kerri, his beautiful daughter Tara and their energetic toy poodle Ivy. A committed sports fan, Allan is one of the few people to see his beloved Australian Rules Football team St Kilda win their only premiership in the club’s 150 year history. Allan had a successful career in media advertising, before taking the new path of author, making use of his travel experiences and exquisite quirky humour to let readers journey through the world with a smile on their face. When not writing (or doing the housework), he devotes his time to volunteering at an animal rescue facility.
